Forestry Pro Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Forestry Pro ("the App") is developed and maintained by Zsolt Peter Olah ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Data Collection and Storage

Forestry Pro is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first approach:

• Local Storage Only: All forestry data (plantations, trees, measurements, photos) is stored locally on your device using a local database (IndexedDB/Dexie.js). Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it. We do not have access to this data.
• No Account Required: The App does not require user registration or account creation for core functionality.
• No Analytics Tracking: We do not use analytics services to track your behavior within the App.
• No Advertising: The App does not contain any advertisements or ad tracking.

3. Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

• Camera: Used to take photos of trees and plantations for documentation purposes. Photos are stored locally on your device.
• Location (GPS): Used to record GPS coordinates of trees and plantation boundaries for mapping purposes. Location data is stored locally on your device.
• Storage: Used to save backup files, export PDF/Excel reports, and store photos locally on your device.

All permissions are optional and the App functions without them, with reduced functionality.

4. Optional Cloud Services

If you choose to use the optional Google Drive backup feature:

• Google Sign-In: Authentication is handled by Google's OAuth 2.0 system. We only request access to the App-specific hidden folder (appDataFolder) on your Google Drive.
• Data Stored: Only your forestry database backup files are stored in Google Drive's hidden app-specific folder. We cannot access any other files on your Google Drive.
• You Control: You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Play Billing: For processing in-app purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Google and is never accessible to us.
• RevenueCat: For managing subscription/purchase status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and purchase receipts. No personal information is shared. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Google Drive API: Only used when you explicitly enable cloud backup. Access limited to app-specific hidden folder.

6. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Browsing history or app usage patterns
• Contact lists or social media profiles
• Financial information (handled by Google Play)

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• All local data is under your full control. You can delete it at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
• Cloud backups on Google Drive can be deleted through Google Drive settings or by revoking app access.
• We do not retain any user data on our servers as we do not operate any servers for this App.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access: Request information about what data is stored (all data is local and visible to you).
• Rectification: Correct any data directly within the App.
• Erasure: Delete your data by clearing app data or uninstalling.
• Portability: Export your data using the App's built-in export features (CSV, Excel, PDF, ZIP backup).
• Restriction: Disable optional features (cloud backup, GPS, camera) at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

Forestry Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is designed for professional forestry use by adults.

10. Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

• All data is stored locally on your device with operating system-level encryption.
• Google Drive backups use Google's enterprise-grade encryption.
• The App communicates with third-party services only over HTTPS.
• No user data is transmitted to our servers (we don't operate any).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) Compliance

Forestry Pro is designed to support compliance with the EU Timber Regulation (EU) No 995/2010. The App helps users maintain proper documentation and traceability records for timber operations.
