Animal Codex Privacy Policy

            Key principle: Animal Codex stores ALL data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
        

1. Data Storage

Animal Codex is an offline-first application. All your data — including pet profiles, medical records, reminders, documents, and expenses — is stored exclusively on your device using the browser's IndexedDB technology.

No cloud servers are used
No data is synced to external services
No user accounts are required

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No personal identification information
No email addresses or phone numbers
No location data
No usage analytics or tracking
No advertising identifiers
No cookies for tracking purposes

3. Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions, which are used only for in-app features:

Camera: To take photos of your pets (stored locally only)
Microphone: For voice notes (stored locally only)
Notifications: To send local reminders for pet care events
Storage: To save and load exported data files

All permissions are optional. The app functions without granting any of them.

4. Data Export & Import

You can export all your data at any time in the following formats:

PDF report
Excel spreadsheet
CSV (ZIP archive)
Full backup (JSON/ZIP)

You can also import previously exported data to restore or transfer your records.

5. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored on your device:

You can delete individual records at any time within the app
Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently
Clearing the app's data in your device settings also removes all data

6. Third-Party Services

Animal Codex uses Google Play Billing for premium purchases. Google's own privacy policy governs the purchase transaction. We do not receive or store any payment information.

7. Children's Privacy

Animal Codex does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted at all, the app is safe for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
